Donna Worsley-Hines
Candidate for Vice President
Department of Social Services
I was born in Queens, New York, and moved to Hempstead, N.Y., in November 1972. A proud graduate of the Hempstead School District, I furthered my education at Ashford University College and Eastern Gateway College.
For over 25 years, I have dedicated my career to serving Nassau County Health & Human Services as a Civil Servant, advocating for the needs of our community. As a business owner for more than two decades, I understand the challenges and opportunities that come with leadership, perseverance, and commitment.
Beyond my professional roles, I have devoted my time and voice to uplifting and empowering others. I am an active member of the Nassau County Choir, a contributor to the Nassau County COVID Barriers Study (2022), and a dedicated member of the Martin Luther King Committee, fighting for justice and equity.
In 2018, I graduated from the Parent Leadership Initiative (PLI) of Nassau County and stepped into the role of Parent Advocate for Choice for All (Roosevelt, NY). My passion for advocacy led me to work alongside Kathleen Rice, former Nassau County District Attorney, developing programs that provided housing, clothing, and employment opportunities for disenfranchised individuals. My fight for fairness and opportunity extends beyond Nassau County—I have worked tirelessly at the national level to ensure that no voice goes unheard and no struggle goes unnoticed.
As a candidate to be your next Vice President of Local 830, I bring unwavering dedication, bold leadership, and a commitment to action. I will ensure that transparency is upheld, fairness is enforced, and every member’s voice is valued. No challenge is too big, and no concern is too small—we will stand together, fight together, and win together.
This is our moment. This is our movement. Let’s build a stronger, fairer, and more united Local 830.
Your vote is your voice—let’s make it count.
